# Honest Anti AI Pledge > An Art pledge and a public badge for projects that commit to artists' consent and compensation. This guide supports manual installation and agents working on a website with its owner's authorization. Live website: https://honest-anti-ai-pledge.pages.dev/ Art pledge: https://honest-anti-ai-pledge.pages.dev/#art Interactive badge builder: https://honest-anti-ai-pledge.pages.dev/#badge Badge image endpoint: https://honest-anti-ai-pledge.pages.dev/badge/art.svg This deployment uses the Pages host. Use the live URLs above for images and backlinks; the badge subtitle HonestAntiAiPledge.com is display text. ## Read the Art pledge before installation The project should follow one of these two pathways: 1. No profit until replacement: the project will not take profit until every AI-generated visual asset has been replaced with human-made work, and each creator has been ethically and reasonably paid for their contribution. 2. Alternatively, use only ethically licensed generation: AI visuals are created with a model trained exclusively on the work of consenting artists or collectives, and those creators receive payment for each generation. The current pledge applies to Art only. Text and Code pledges have not been defined. A badge represents the website owner's commitment; it is not independent verification. The green check is a pledge mark. No account, API key, signup, payment, or badge registration is required. Generating a badge for a hostname is not evidence of ownership or compliance. ## Create a badge without using the form Use the image endpoint with these query parameters: - domain: the exact public hostname where the badge will appear, such as example.com or www.example.com. Use a lowercase hostname without a scheme, path, port, or login details; URL-encode it in query strings. The server normalizes and validates it. International hostnames can use their ASCII/punycode form. - theme: light, dark, or transparent. The default is light. Transparent removes the background fill and uses dark text, so it suits a light background. - download: optional; set to 1 to download the SVG. Omit for a centrally hosted embed that can receive template updates. Example image: https://honest-anti-ai-pledge.pages.dev/badge/art.svg?domain=example.com&theme=light The visible caption includes the requested domain. Long names are shortened visually; the full domain stays in the image's accessibility description and URL. Invalid domains return HTTP 400. No public query parameter grants verified status. ## Install a responsive HTML embed Replace example.com in both URLs and the alt text with the project's hostname. Change theme=light to theme=dark or theme=transparent if needed. ```html This website has taken the Honest Anti AI Art Pledge — example.com ``` Add it to a footer, a project's About page, or an HTML/custom-code block. An agent needs access to that site's source or CMS to install it; the pledge website does not grant access to another website. In React/JSX, use style={{ maxWidth: '100%', height: 'auto' }} instead of the HTML style string. If inline styles are blocked or stripped by the host site, apply max-width: 100% and height: auto through its stylesheet. ## Mobile and installation checks - The SVG's natural size is 400 by 88 pixels. The embed's max-width:100% and height:auto make it shrink to the available container width and preserve its proportions. It displays on mobile without a script or iframe. - Ensure the parent container can shrink and does not clip the image or force a minimum width. Avoid rendering the badge so small that its text is unreadable. - If the target site restricts images with Content Security Policy, allow images from https://honest-anti-ai-pledge.pages.dev in its img-src policy. Preserve its other protections. - Preview the target website at a phone width (for example 390 pixels) and on desktop. Check for horizontal overflow, readable text, the selected theme, and a working backlink to the Art pledge. - Hosted badge images can be cached for five minutes. Template updates can take that long to appear. Downloaded or self-hosted SVGs do not receive automatic template changes. - The user's hostname query remains compatible with a future verification service. Independent verification is not currently implemented.
